Scientists deny mobile phone links to cancer, brain dysfunction or infertility

Several claims have been made about cellphones increasing the risk of cancer, tumors and brain dysfunction. Scientists in London took a look at hundreds of such studies, said that there is no evidence that mobile phones cause any disorder. They also said, this doesn’t mean we should stop monitoring it. Since, long term effects have to be taken into account too.

Harmful effects of mobile phones

Health Protection Agency (HPA) of London accomplished the biggest study on effects of cellphones, in terms of health. Agency also stated that whole population in London is exposed to almost same amount of low frequency radio waves; though, there are 80 million cellphones in London. This is because of Wi-Fi, TV and Radio broadcasting. The study concluded that no one was experiencing any symptoms owing to absence or presence of low frequency radio waves.

They also pointed out the fact that there were no evidence about cancer, tumors and infertility cause due to mobile phones. The head of the group that conducted study said that we still need to monitor the effects since mobile phones were not popular until late 90s. They did a similar study in 2003, and concluded the same fact.

Experts say there is a lot to be done in this field yet. Now, there are a lot of other devices that emit radio frequencies and study on such devices should be done explicitly. HPA also stated that cellphone usage by children should be as less as possible.
