There has been a leak from the Windows Mobile Department of Microsoft as per which the Windows Mobile name will soon be chucked out of the ‘Window’ and a new name-‘Windows Phone’ will be in place. Our pals over Mobile Crunch have a very hilarious way of looking at this development and we are sorry to say that we thoroughly enjoyed what their take was. Essentially, the name that has now been chosen or is under consideration or whatever-is a step back rather than a step forward for a Mobile is a more futuristic word than a Phone. Also, the development comes with no upgrades to the software in reckoning which means that Microsoft does not really know what it is doing at present-a consequence of the popularity of Google Android. The shorter term for the new name is also a touch funny-WinPho and it will definitely not stick like the Android or the Symbian. MC proposes Windows Contact as the best name and as a return favor wants that the brain who christened the new name to be whipped- we would say, do that with a lot of fervor!
