When the Nokia N95 made its debut, we were more than happy to witness the pleasant twist brought in by the dual-slider mechanism. After all, a dual-slider is better than a mono, we thought. But as the saying goes, technology is a giant which feeds on weird thoughts. So, here comes the ultimate slider mechanism that will make the dual-slider mechanism of the N95 run for a cover.
The concept is based on a patent entitled ‘A Layered Mobile Device’ and features a triple-slider mechanism! However, the new design is still on papers and the chances are very mild that the concept will make it to the finishing point. Although the concept is quite fresh and mind boggling, it looks a complex mess of layers.
There is a numeric keypad with dedicated set of multimedia keys and a QWERTY keyboard too. The three layers seem to be sleek enough but the real test lies in the ease of functionality while using the slider mechanism.
Anyway, lets keep an eye on the future and prepare ourselves to deal with the triple slider.
