Nokia outs software fix to Lumia 900’s connectivity issues

Within days after the connectivity issues of Lumia 900 propped up, Nokia has revealed a software fix. Along with the software update, the Finnish mobile maker, which is striving to glide through a recent slump safely, offers a $100 AT&T bill credit to all Lumia 900 owners. The gesture of goodwill offer is up even for those who buy new Lumia 900s before April 21. It looks that it is the best time for a Windows Phone geek to possess the premium phone of the platform.

Some models of Lumia 900 were reported to have serious connectivity faults. The problem affected connectivity to 2G, 3G and 4G LTE of the device. Nokia soon acknowledged the issue and apologized to its users for the inconvenience. The problem was purely in the software and not related to its hardware or network, Nokia says in its press note.

Lumia 900 is the higher end version of the Finnish mobile maker’s new Lumia line of Windows Phone handsets. Nokia launched the device in January in the U.S. and it runs on AT&T’s 4G LTE network there. With the Lumia 900, Microsoft aims to popularize its Windows Phone operating system. The Redmond software giant has been working hard to make its Windows Phone a competitive player in global market for a while.

At the same time, for Nokia, the Lumia 900 is a symbol of pride. The company has been showing it off as an incredible smartphone that can compete with the top Android phones and iPhone in global markets. Anyway, the software fix that users can obtain on Microsoft’s Zune software will hopefully fix the connectivity problems.
