Nokia and KKR launch ‘Channel Me’ interactive campaign ahead of 2012 IPL

Nokia, the official sponsor of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) of the Indian Premier League (IPL), has started a special consumer engagement campaign ahead of the fifth version of IPL. Called the ‘Nokia Channel Me,’ the interactive campaign helps connect the fans of KKR and its co-owner Shah Rukh Khan with the new trends of the cricket league on their Nokia smartphones.

Users of Nokia devices can create personalized channels on the site Nokiachannelme.com. The ‘Fun2Shoot’ app for the Nokia Channel Me can be downloaded from Nokia Store and Windows Phone Marketplace respectively for Symbian and Windows Phone handset owners.

Nokia smartphone owners can create their new channels using the app and upload and enjoy rich content. Consumers, who are more active in their Nokia Channel Me, will get lots of offers from the Nokia and KKR team like the chance to host Nokia KKR Chill party and others.

According to Viral Oza of Nokia, India, the partnership with KKR for the interactive campaign will leverage the firm’s technological competency and Shah Rukh Khan and his team’s extreme fans. The marketing strategy will give a burst for the sales for the recent Nokia handsets in the country.
