Ben Cook, the World Record Holder for fastest text messaging speed suffered a humiliating defeat by a Voice recognition system. The voice recognition system defeated his record time by about 66%.

The exhibition was sponsored by Nuance Communication Inc. who gave a complicated 27-word message to both the participants, Cook completed the message in 48 seconds while the voice recognition system took just 16 seconds to defeat the record holder.

The message that was given in the competition was the same with which Cook had earlier won the record, it read: ‘The razor toothed piranhas of the genera Serrasalmus and Pygo centrus are the most ferocious freshwater fish in the world. In reality they seldom attack a human‘.

Cook had earlier completed the sentenced in 42 seconds and became the fastest text messenger in the world but this time he was a bit slow and typed it in 48 seconds.
