The Samsung Electronics Korea has come up with a new fusion memory chip that will boost the performance of the smartphones. The chip called OneDRAM is the first prototype built and has a 133MHz processing speed with 512MB memory.
The chip uses the ‘dual-port approach’ that will accelerate the data transfer by the factor five and reduce the power consumption by about 30%. The chip will replace the DRAM and SRAM memory chips that are used now days.
Samsung has plans to introduce this chip in its handsets by second half of 2007.
