Samsung kicks off the 3GSM with its Ultra Edition II handsets

At the 3GSM World Congress 2007 in Barcelona, Samsung proudly rolled out second-gen Samsung Ultra Editions handsets (Ultra IIs signify that they are slim) named U300 clamshell, U600, and U700 along with the world’s thinnest U100 candybar.

Samsung’s 9.6-mm U300: It features 2.2-inches 240 x 320 TFT internal display with 98 x 16 OLED external display, and 70MB of on-board storage.

Samsung’s 10.9-mm U600: It comes equipped with a 3.1 megapixel camera, 2.2-inch 240 x 420 TFT display, Bluetooth 2.0, 60MB of on-board storage, and microSD expansion. Dubbed ‘Crown Jewel’, the U600 slider comes colored in sapphire blue, garnet red, platinum metal and copper gold.

Samsung’s 12.1-mm U700: The 3G slider comes rocking 3.6Mbps HSDPA data and microSD expansion along with other multimedia functionalities.

All the four handsets are expected to hit the shelves in Europe under the theme of ‘The World In Hand’ by March this year.
