RIM introduces Mobile Fusion for Apple, Android phones

Research In Motion has always branded its BlackBerry phones for enterprise users. We have recently seen a number of moves from RIM with the coming of a new CEO, Thorsten Heins to get it out of blues. The latest addition to the list is BlackBerry’s Mobile Fusion application that would allow organizations and governments manage BlackBerry, iOS and Android devices from a common interface. There has been increasing demand from employees across the world to allow access to their phones and tablets in the office space. BlackBerry saw an opportunity in this quite early and looked to develop a system that would incorporate not only BlackBerry but also other devices such as the iPhone, iPad and Android-based devices.

RIM launches Mobile Fusion hoping it would revive business

The users have to provide their login credentials while they try to access the corporate network or applications on their personal devices. A single outbound security connection is used to tack all the actions taking place on the network. You can download the app for free, though the organizations will need to buy license at the rate of $99 per user, or $4 per user per month. It is also offering a 60-day trial to let organizations trial and test the app and then make a decision.

With features such as BlackBerry Enterprise Server and Balance Technology, BlackBerry is known to provide better data control and security. RIM is again looking to focus on its enterprise customers to bring its business back on track, which has taken a hit since the coming of Android.
