Retro Rotary Phone interacts with iPhone’s Siri

Be it the soaring buzz of its availability for Android operating system or raising the question if the software could be downloaded legally on iPhone 4 through an update, the widely popular Siri has always been in the news. After making some interesting waves by announcing that iPhone 4 Siri port is made legally possible, the feature-loaded intelligent personal assistant has now found a new residence on an old rotary school. Pretty interestingly, Modder Davis Remmel recently devised a novel, fun way to interact with Siri on the user’s mobile device.

Siri Rotary Phone

Designed with creativity in mind, the uniquely outlined solution enables users to benefit from their Apple personal assistant by using an old retro dial phone together with a Bluetooth headset. The latter, however, will be helpful in establishing the link. The retro phone not only makes a distinctive yet unusual means to go completely hands free from the smartphone, but also allows users to stay knitted with their Apple Siri seamlessly.

Developed by Modder Davis, the whole new concept of using an old-looking phone for Siri indeed makes it simpler for users to keep their iPhone aside while taking advantage of all the features of their software. In fact, by dialing one on the rotary dialer, users will be enabled to set up the Siri connection.

The procedure of instituting the rotary dial phone with Siri subsumes a grilled but retro looking phone, a little re-wiring and a functioning Bluetooth headset. The developer quite ingeniously relocated the headset’s speaker and microphone into the handset’s headset. Subsequent to which, the button was merged with the dial by wiring it up without a glitch – which further assists in closing the circuit when a number is dialed.

This way, the phone assimilated the capabilities and the functionality to be used to ask Apple’s personal assistant the usual questions. However, the developer settled upon to dial one instead of zero or nine – since these are believed to hold the button down for a bit too long. Besides all these, users will also be noticing a logo of Siri on the dial’s center – affirming the hack.

The further advantage comes as the ability to use the old phone as a retro handset to place actual phone calls. For those who are unaware, Siri allows users to use their own voice in order to send messages, make phone calls, schedule meetings and do lots more. The application also enables users to do all the things they do every day. Right from setting reminders to glancing over the weather to asking it to write and send your text, the app lets one do just about everything.

Although the Apple Siri is available for download from the company’s official website, Modder Davis Remmel is yet to divulge details on his new contribution. Whether the retro phone with Siri will be introduced in real or has just been revealed to showcase the other possibilities of the app and the phone, we have no clue at the moment. So, that leaves us with nothing but to bide out time.
