Nokia swings down in Europe, Lumias held responsible

Singing the praises for or passing the buck has rather been considered ‘very much in the bag’ for manufacturers who hail from the searing smartphone market. However, for Nokia, the latter one looks gooier for now. Quite disappointingly, the Finnish Company recently fizzled and went astray in impressing telecom operators in Europe – owing the ‘sinking ship’ to its Lumia Series.Nokia Lumia Series

Although Lumia 900 might be selling like hot cakes at AT&T, but the smartphone could not pull the right strings when it came across the European shores. If we go by what Reuters has to say, Nokia has swung pretty down and has failed to carve a niche compared to several other smartphone manufacturers. In fact, four major telecom operators in Europe have revealed that Nokia Lumia Series does not do the justice and feels weak compared to Samsung’s Galaxy Phones or Apple iPhone for that matter.

While it may be little vague to comment on the specific feature that showed Nokia a down side, many believe that the devices’ software issues might have contributed towards the bad time. Not only this, skeptics among operators feel that Lumia phones also lack innovative functions and render several glitches as far as its embedded battery is concerned. But hold on, don’t you think if that was the case, the handsets from the range would not have made a mark at AT&T.

Nevertheless, Nokia now has a strong battle to face for the key U.S. market, whereby its former supremacy has withered up to 1 percent of the smartphone market. Interestingly at the same time, AT&T disagree with other telecom operators as Lumia smartphones have done a commendable business for them. What may surprise most of us is the fact that Nokia Lumias have rather outweighed Windows phones in certain regions.

However, that nowhere justifies the disappointment caused by the Lumia Series in European markets. If some pointed a finger at the smartphones’ lack of innovation, so others could not escape from raising their brows for a heavy price tag that comes strung along. Besides this, operators also claim that the embedded hardware specifications are not that great, especially when placed next to iPhone or Galaxy Series.

Since Lumias prance with Windows hardware, it has gone a bit more difficult for operators to merchandize the models. And thus, Nokia is now endeavoring to restore their credibility in terms of manufacturing hardware handsets and enhance the Microsoft Windows operating system experience (which currently lags in the market).

To provide a rough overview, the Finnish Company’s shares have gone down below 3 Euros, a 15-year low. Although the mobile phone manufacturer has been putting its best foot forward to leverage the overall user experience, certain significant tweaks are definitely needed. However, it might be a bit too early to state whether it will ever be able to regain the top spot – considering that many others have been punching the clock with incredibly advanced and much better pieces of their creativity.
