M536 from Asus packs a punch

Asus showcased its new Pocket PC, the M536 at the CeBIT Fair 2008 in Hannover, Germany. The phone measures 116.9 x 62.5 x 13.9 mm runs Windows Mobile 6.1 on a 2.43-inch touchscreen with a 320 x 320 display and it comes with a standard QWERTY keypad for typing convenience.

As for connectivity, it comes with with quad-band GSM connectivity (850, 900,1800 and 1900 MHz), UMTS, HSDPA (for data transfer speeds of upto 3.6 Mbps), GPRS and EDGE class 10. It also features GPS, Wifi and Bluetooth 2.0. It has a VGA at the front and a 3.0 megapixel camera that should account for more than above average quality pictures. It has 256 MB NAND and 128 MB DDR SDRAM memory and comes with a 1200 mAh Li-ion battery.

The M536 is likely to be released sometime in the beginning of the third quarter of this year in Europe, and it is expected to cost nearly 500 Euros. The cost however, may be justified by looking at what the phone has to offer.
