NeuroSky unveils brain-controlled system for mobile phones and consoles

NeuroSky Inc, a venture company in San Jose has developed a system that can read brain waves with the help of a sensor and use them for mobile phone applications. The system consists of a sensor, which reads the brain waves and is connected to the user’s forehead. It reads alpha and beta rays from the brain and can gauge how relaxed a person is and the data can be read on the mobile phone. The company may integrate this technology into a chip in the future. This may greatly help mobile phone users, gamers and also music lovers.

Pricing and Availability:

Though not available at the moment, it was demonstrated at the CTIA Wireless IT & Entertainment 2008 and plans to launch the technology soon.

In the future, the company may use the technology for home game consoles, mobile phones and also audio/visual equipment. We may expect more in the coming exhibitions from the company.
