There is much debate on whether the BlackBerry Bold is an ‘iClone’ or a close replica of the iPhone. Despite of the close resemblances in appearance including the glossy black finish and the chrome trim, RIM claims to have designed the Bold 3.5 years ago and any similarity to Apple’s iPhone is purely coincidental. While comparing and contrasting the wide array of features of both the devices it has been found that BlackBerry Bold is more or less similar to iPhone regarding its size, weight, network and communication support and the 2-megapixel camera.
There are differences as well between the two devices. The most important perhaps is that despite of both flaunting a 480 x 320 display, iPhone has a touchscreen display that the BlackBerry Bold lacks. Apple’s iPhone has more talk time, memory space, web surfing features while BlackBerry Bold’s audio, network support and emailing capabilities are better than that of iPhone.
