Fonehook is a project by Anthony Johnston from Overland Park, KS. The designer drew inspiration from himself, tripping on the phone at night. Since the designer wanted to create some cheap hook solution to hang up iPhone or any phone for that matter, he conceived a hook which can be mounted on the wall using screws or double side tape.
The designer went to a hardware shop, to look at what was available there. Then, an idea clicked of making something cheap which can be used to rest your phone away from the floor. After a few months of working, he settled on a design. Fonehook works with most of the cellphones and can also act as a table stand.
The 3D printed prototypes have been successfully tested. However, to start manufacturing a mold would be needed. Molds can be very expensive and, in this case, $14,000 would be needed for a simple, five cavity mold. Hence, the designer has asked for funding for his project. Fonehook would be manufactured if the designer could raise $14000 till 14th May. Fonehooks would be available in two different colors to match your walls.
