Dutch watch phone maker to open 50 outlets in India

Watch-Phone manufacturer Burg has decided to open a chain of outlets in India. This Dutch manufacturer would be opening 50 outlets in the country. First of this chain was opened yesterday, in Kolkata. These phones are targeted at people who are always on the run, travelling and don’t want to carry one in their pocket.

Burg phones are marketed by KG Retail Ventures Pvt. Ltd and would cost from Rs.9000 to Rs.24000. These phones would support both type of networks: GSM and CDMA. In a couple of months, Burg would be opening retail stores in cities like Delhi, Noida, Gurgaon, Guwahati, Mumbai and Ahmedabad.

Burg is a dream project of Hermen van den Berg, a proficient Industrial designer from Netherlands. Burg made the first prototype in 2008; it was also displayed in various international product fairs. In a year, Burg was ready with a fully functional product. Shortly followed by it Burg won, Most Innovative Product Award in the year 2009. Burg can be considered as a pioneer of watch-phone manufacturing.

Burg is now working aggressively to market their products in India. One cannot easily avoid a 903 million user market India. Just after two or three months, you would see a lot of these phones.
