A Chinese site has claimed that Apple’s iPhone Firmware 2.0 has added a new feature to its updated version that would recognize Chinese handwriting. It will also include a revamped Japanese interface. If you were in love with the touchscreen keyboard then you should take a course of drawing Chinese characters for it is the only language that will be supported for the time being. The Newton Personal Digital assistant was the first handwriting recognition software designed by Apple. It later created the ‘Rosetta’ that was an improved version of Newton and featured in the Mac OS X under the name ‘Inkwell’. Nevertheless, Apple is continuously working on handwriting recognition technology trying to develop better and improved versions with greater functionality and hopefully multi-linguistic.
