Digital technology, especially computers, cellphones, cameras and PMPs, is going through such an evolutionary phase that even the recent gadgets turn square within few years and sometime inside months. Almost all the big and small companies are striving hard for latest and finest technologies, resulting in a cutthroat competition as well as fall in the price tags of the gadgets. This is perhaps the reason that has forced Apple to plan another slash (within six months) in the prices of its mighty iPhone and iPod Touch line by $100, making some price spacing for the newer 3G iPhones that also will increase its product sales. On the other hand, the 8Gb iPod Touch and the 8Gb iPhone will be dropped from current lineup. Now the ball is in your court, you may either go for a bit old Apple gadgets at cut down price or wait for the upcoming 3G iPhone. Though, I would suggest the latter alternative.
