Vodaphone Join Hands With Palm For A BlackBerry Rival

Vodafone has announced to launch a Palm smartphone by the end of this year in order to compete its fierce rival RIM’s (Research In Motion), BlackBerry, because of its ability to push e-mail. This smartphone would be compatible with Windows Mobile 5.0 and will operate on Vodafone’s 3G network.

Nick Jeffery from Vodafone said,

The new Treo smartphone will be a market-leading device, which combined with our high-speed 3G/UMTS network and real-time push email, will make this an invaluable business tool.

Initially, it will be available in the United Kingdom and other European countries including Germany, Spain, Italy and the Netherlands.

As soon as I get more details about this Treo smartphone, I will get back to you.
