More options have been added to Sprint’s lineup of push-to-talk phones. Starting Tuesday Motorola Renegade V950 and Motorola i365 have become part of the offerings by the popular carrier. The V950 will be made available for $129.99 and the i365 for $89.99. Both the handsets are being sold on a 2 year contract. Among the two phones, the costlier Moto Renegade is definitely the better choice. This rugged flip-phone has military-grade specs and this essentially means it is dust and water proof. The QChat-enabled phone has an interoperability function and thus functions on both, CDMA and iDEN networks. The Nextel Direct Connect phone also supports connection to Sprint’s online services like Sprint TV and Sprint Radio. Renegade is also quite good on multimedia front with a 2MP camera (video recording), mobile email and media player application.

The other offering already mentioned is the Motorola i365. This ain’t an eye-candy but again conforms to military specifications. More a walkie talkie (with an antenna), it sacrifices camera for GPS and supports two phone lines on a single handset. Its USP is probably an amazing speakerphone which has double the volume of regular handsets.
