Sharp ready to launch high-end phone outside Japan

Sharp may not have a new model to its name in the last one year but lovers of cutting-edge cell phone technology can be really glad right about now since the firm has decided to finally launch its new model outside Japan for the first time in the company’s history. The new Sharp SX862 (Hong Kong Smartone-Vodafone indexing) has been given the green signal by the FCC. Similar to the very posh Softbank 920SH AQUOS phone, the new Sharp phone is expected to house the same WVGA screen as well as 3.2MP AF camera. The phone will support both WCDMA and tri-band GSM and the only major difference between the two phones so far seems to be in thickness and battery volume. So far so good, but only after the launch shall we truly know whether the Sharp can sustain the near-cult popularity that it inspires in Japan outside the island nation or not!
