Samsung’s i770 Saga QWERTY phone and clamshell world phone, Renown, are now available online at Verizon Wireless. Both the phones have their own target audience. While the Saga is a high-end smartphone, the Renown is a mid-range flip phone. Moreover, the Saga is the first phone to require Verizon’s mandatory $29.99 a month plan.
Technical Specifications for Samsung Saga: Support for CDMA / EVDO, and GSM / GPRS networks, Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional operating system, QWERTY keyboard, 2.55-inch touchscreen, 2-megapixel camera, built-in optical mouse, Wi-Fi access, support for microSD/microSDHC memory cards, and Bluetooth technology.
Technical Specifications for Samsung Renown: Support for CDMA / EVDO, and GSM / GPRS networks, 2 Mpix camera A2DP Bluetooth support, support for microSD/microSDHC memory cards, two displays, and Verizon’s Visual Voice Mail application.
Pricing & Availability: The Samsung Saga comes at $200, after a $70 mail-in rebate and with a 2-year contract, while the Samsung Renown will come on November 19th for $180 after a $50 mail-in rebate with the 2-year agreement.
