Besides being used for its primary function of calling and receiving calls, cell phones have of late become multifunctional gadget being used as cameras, computers and an array of multimedia activities. But here is something more you can expect your cell phone to do for you – this includes opening doors, boot PCs and even pay for foods in the canteen. This is exactly what DoCoMo of Japan is all set to do with its Osaifu-Keitai phones or FeliCa RFID cards. This is not being introduced in the market for common everyday use but is restricted to office security – termed the Kaismart. The RFID chips based cell phones are to be used by companies where individual employees will use the cell phones to pass through the security system of the company and do their work with ease. We only hope such a cell phone becomes freely available for use in home apart from being used in office. It seems that Cell phones in future will replace the remotes and Wiimotes too.
