PowerMat cliams to offer wireless power

Israel’s Powermat has announced that it is now ready to use technologies that turn any surface into a power source. The few induction based wireless power that have been released have been unmarketable though. The Israeli company seems to have photoshopped the image of an iPod charging onto every image sent by Powermat. Though the company says embedding PowerMat in sheetrock eliminates the need for outlets entirely, they do not specify how that can be done or what the logic behind it is. So, may insiders and those who have been watching the developments are quite skeptical. Powermat also claims that it can deliver energy in real time and electrical fires can be avoided. Though the idea looks interesting, lack of proof and explanations has resulted in a lot of cynicism.
