In a bid to add more GPS functionality to the new iPhone, Apple is beta testing iPhone’s 2.1 firmware with a new version of the iPhone SDK being seeded as well. According to initial reports, Apple is looking to expand core functions with facilities like being able to track what direction you’re moving in, and how fast, perhaps signaling a turn-by-turn GPS app on the iPhone 3G in the near future. For the moment though, the new SDK can’t be used for submitting applications to the App Store. Though this version of the software is still under testing, the developments promise a better and fiercer iPhone 3G in the not so far future which of course is always good for the end user!
