With people across the world reaping revolutionary benefits from the advancements in mobile phone technology why must the poorest of the poor on African continent remain behind? Where roads have failed to provide access to necessary health care technology is fast filling the gap. Now parents in Africa won’t have to travel long distances to register newborn babies. Instead they can do that while sitting at home through an SMS.
A vital step in keeping a check on growing population the parents just have to text their family name to a predefined phone number in order to create a birth certificate for their new born. The certificate wuld be delivered by a health care worker along with a basic baby kit. It doesn’t end there. The mobile phones would also provide messages on post natal care, parenthood, and baby healthcare information and will also have a link to UNICEF
