Christmas 2008 is when Nokia’s iPhone challenger, the Nokia 5800 Tube will hit the commercial market. Meanwhile, we have managed to get hold of the specs that this Nokia model will come out with. The Nokia 5800 doesn’t look too dissimilar to the internet tablet phone, the Nokia 810, but is a little narrower in width. The finish of course could see some more refinement since this is still a pre-production model. The 5800 tag this Nokia sports clearly indicates that Nokia will position this phone in it’s Expressmusic series. The Phone itself has a 3.2 inch, finger touch screen, below which there are three keys and the 5800 runs a S60 user interface.

Haptikos technology might just make it to this phone but Nokia haven’t confirmed any of this. Haptikos technology is the feature which makes the particular part of the screen give out pseudovibrations as you touch it which gives the user real time tactile feedback as you go about interacting with the phone by touching it. Apart from the regular calling and texting features, the 5800 is GPS enabled and even has WiFi thrown in for good measure. The GPS lets the Nokia 5800 have geo-tagging for all the images you might snap with it’s 3.2 megapixel camera. 3G is standard with stereo Bluetooth and TV out connectivity. With all these features and a decent form factor, Nokia might just pull off a stunner with it’s 5800.
