No Contracts Penalty for Canadian Subscribers if a Carrier Changes Terms of Service

cwta new code of conduct

The Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association is seemingly inspired by the natives across the border. Just as there is no penalty for a user who walks away from his contract upon minor changes to the ‘terms of service’ of his contract in the US, the Canadian users can now walk away scot-free likewise. This code of conduct directly benefits the users who will not be liable to pay any penalty if a carrier makes material changes to the terms of the contract. Another change agreed to is that the users can stay with the carrier (in case of changes) but he will be then staying on board at a grandfathered rate. The CWTA has ordered carriers to state charges and contracts more clearly, pay more attention to the privacy and render a higher level of customer service.
