Motorola’s next-gen cell phone to come with an onboard projector

Electronic components have started to go slim and small, projectors also are no way behind. Microvision has developed a new miniscule projector that is based on an even smaller DLP chip designed by Texas Instruments. This projector will soon find some space in a prototype cell phone to be developed by Motorola.

The projector named PicoP is capable to project an image at a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels that measures 15-inches diagonal, the same size you get on your laptop screen.

Motorola and Microvision have not yet commented on the price and the availability of these projecting cell phones. These developments are sure to change the experience of giving presentations with a cell phone, which till now is not a very good experience. Users will also be able to give presentations and watch movies with these cell phones provided they have enough memory on board.

What will Motorola call these phones…? i guess MotoProject would be awesome!
