MS Silverlight takes on Adobe’s Flash Player

silvernight ULQeF 48In an attempt to take on an Adobe Flash developing framework, Microsoft has plans to make Silverlight available very soon on the G1 Android and the iPhone. Microsoft’s Steve Ballmer has always been eager to bring Microsoft Silverlight to the Apple devices, but we must not forget the fact that Apple controls the software that runs on the iPhone. Anyway, the case is entirely different for G1 Android phone. It’s really easy for the companies to launch applications on the Android platform. Microsoft’s Silverlight, is touted to be the Adobe Flash’s main competitor, when it comes to multimedia packed browser plug-ins. Silverlight boasts content protection, deep zoom, a compatible subset of Microsoft’s .Net framework, and built-in controls.

Moreover, it offers support for a number of programming languages, including JavaScript, Visual Basic, C# and IronPython. Microsoft has lately let loose the version 2 of the Silverlight browser plug-in. Let’s see which way the wind blows for Microsoft this time.
