Micron Technology has earned itself a name in the arena of imaging innovations. This time, Micron has come up with a new 1.3-megapixel image sensor, MT9M019 designed to fit into a 1/5-inch optical format. The 1.3-megapixel image sensor is based on the 2.2 micron pixel technology.
The MT9M019 is able to capture 30fps with the full 1.3-megapixel resolution of 1,280 by 1,024 pixels or capture 60fps at 640 by 480 pixels VGA resolution. It allows your camera phone or the webcam to shoot crisp quality images under different lighting conditions, thanks to high dynamic range.
Its compatibility with Standard Mobile Imaging Architecture (SMIA) makes it easier to incorporate it in the mobile phones. Well, the MT9M019 will undergo mass production in 2007.
