This prototype was christened the ‘Video Pad’; it flaunted a remarkable interface (like the Palm Pilot) with an integrated speaker ergonomically placed just below the wide LCD screen.
Apple Figaro is another prototype that may have got the laurels of being called the world’s first ever UMPC. It’s a lethal machine combining the aspects of a laptop and a PDA.
