Target Consumers – Users looking to upgrade to a mid-level business phone

Should they buy it? – Yes

Why? Positioned between entry-level and mid-level smartphones, the HTC Touch Viva is certainly worth an investment for several reasons. We have sung praises of the TouchFLO user interface and this is why we believe Touch Viva scores above its competitors. It features a simplified version of this technology for pocket PCs. However, one must remember that every gadget has limitations. This one has an average display, which probably takes a little bit of sheen off its elevated status. Despite this, it doesn’t disappoint with other performance parameters. Moreover, the appearance is neat enough for those looking to just move up from entry-level.

Technical Specifications: EDGE, Wi-Fi, Integrated GPS, 256MB ROM, 2MP camera,

Pricing & Availability: Pricing details have been kept under wraps so far. However, we believe the gadget could see an October release.

What others are saying:

Wim from Cellphones says: I think this is the series that HTC dubbed itself as the affordable TouchFLO 3D powered handset that may suit well with student pocket.

Nate Lanxon from Crave says: On the entry-level podium is the HTC Touch Viva — a more budget-oriented handset for those with less cash to throw at a mobile Internet device.
