We have been referring to HTC’s 2007 roadmap for the past few weeks with number of devices being launched but the king of these entries HTC Athena finally got official on T-mobile making an exclusive debut as ‘AMEO’.

This powerful PDA (its hard to define whether its a phone/PDA or UMPC) has dimensions of 13.3 x 9.8 x 16 cm with an Intel XScale 624 MHz processor, 128MB RAM that is also coupled with 256MB ROM and miniSD card slot.

Ameo has a 8GB HDD and being a quad-band set is a good candidate for a USA launch also. It has all the connectivity options ranging from Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi, UMTS and HSDPA.

There is also a 3-megapixel camera for you to click photos and record videos.
Weighing at just 355g Ameo’s 2100mAh battery give 300 minutes of talk time and 300 hours of standby.

All in all it’s a little more than a smartphone but a little short of being a full UMPC.
