HP debuts pair of iPAQ phones in the market

Hewlett-Packard has added two new mobile variants in its family. This time, HP is coming with wide range of products to expand its iPAQ family, including five new handsets and three new notebooks (NBs).

Both the 900 series and 600 series of HP come with a 3 megapixel camera, a touch screen and operate on Microsoft Windows Mobile 6 Professional OS. Other five new mobile devices include:

iPAQ 900 Series Business Messenger; 3G phone with QWERTY keyboard; iPAQ 600 Series Business Navigator; A two-in-one 3G phone and navigation device; iPAQ 300 Series Travel Companion; iPAQ 200 Series Enterprise Handheld; and iPAQ 100 Series Classic Handheld

Look-wise and function-wise, the HP iPAQ 600 Series Business Navigator act as a mobile phone but it comes with a navigation feature with 3-D maps. While the iPAQ 900 Series Business Messenger is a really cool smart phone to have!

Gene Wang, vice president of marketing for HP’s hand held unit, stated that PDAs are seeing as companions to mobile phones and smart phones instead of the all-in-one-device.

While according to analyst IDC, HP is playing major role in the PDA world. The sales of its HP’s PDAs were just half of the market-leader Palm.
