Not that I’d necessarily call it an iPhone doppelganger, but if seeing is believing, then GSmart’s newly developed UI software Smart Touch seems to be just another iPhone spin-off. The finger friendly interface lets users create and customize 16 of their most frequently used cellphone apps via iPhone-like shortcuts. You just swipe across the shortcuts list displayed at the bottom of the screen to activate a particular program and just tap the icon to launch it. To add a new shortcut, drag the shortcut icon to activate icon and so forth. The new UI would have been a lot more interesting if GSmart had thought it up before we all got so damn addicted to our iPhones. But in case you are one of those underprivileged or scroogy cellphone owners who are yet to take a bite of the juicy Apple, Smart Touch original and Smart Touch Chinese version should prove to be a worthy purchase when it launches in European markets later this summer. Savor Smart Touch’s demo video for the time being.
