In the wake of our contemporary cellphones, we have somewhat forgotten the ‘world’s first ever mobile’, actually the ‘father of all mobiles’ – Motorola‘s DynaTAC (Dynamic Adaptive Total Area Coverage) 8000X. It was debuted in 1983 with a chunky price of $3995.

Motorola claims to have spent approximately $100-million within its R&D time span of 15 years. It measured 13 x 1.75 x 3.5 inches, the DynaTAC 8000X featured an LED display and up to 30-minutes of talk time when fully charged.

It adorned tan/gray, tan, and dark gray body panels. Hit the gallery for more pics!
