Non-PC gadgets, i.e. smartphones and netbooks, have shown tremendous growth in the recent past; be it sales, applications, affordability or variety. Sensing the opportunity, Dell seeks to hurl a salvo against smartphone manufacturers like Apple, RIM, Motorola and HTC. Announcing its intrusion into the mobile arena, Dell has almost finalized its Android and Windows Mobile based prototypes. One model, features iPhone-styled touch screen sans a keyboard while the other is a slider. It would be quite interesting to see whether Dell succeeds in its plan or had to face the same fate again as it did in projecting Zing. Anyway, amid all sorts of rumors surfacing time and again, one could never deny a MWC launch next month.
