What’s happened to UTStarcom we were all anticipating something from the leaked roadmap but they have come to CES to show us two just two mid-range phones that are far-far away from what was being anticipated?
The phones that are being displayed are: CDM8935 and CDM8960.

CDM8935
will be the second smallest CDMA flip phone when it gets launched in USA after Pantech’s C3.

It has 1.5-inch 128 x 128 screen that can display 262k colors. There is also one outside the flip of 1-inch dimension with resolution of 96 x 64. A VGA camera and just 16MB of internal memory complete the phone with its dimensions being 3.3 x 1.7 x 0.7-inch.

The 8960 has a 1.3-megapixel camera with compatibility to EV-DO. It has a 176 x 220 resolution main screen with capability of displaying 262K colors. Memory wise it will be far better than the first one as it has 64MB internal memory with microSD card slot.

No deals about the operator has been announced so it looks they can go anywhere from Sprint, Verizon, Alltel or Virgin Mobile.

BUT HTC where are all those promised goodies from the leaked roadmap of 2007 : the HTC Libra and the XV6800.
