Cellphones could help prevent car thefts

If you had been worrying about thieves driving away in your car in your absence, worry no more. A young Kenyan, Morris Mbetsa has devised a way to make use of cellphones in order to warn the user if his car is started in his absence. The user would be alerted via mobile phone and he/she could choose to call the police, render the cars engine immobile or listen to the thieves’ conversation, all with the help of a cellphone. Interestingly, Morris is just a high-school graduate and has no technical training whatsoever. The technology could help car owners to protect their cars using just their cellphones.
