Automated Robotic Telemarketing and Unsolicited Calls to be banned in US from Tuesday

robotic calls banned

The American consumers who are constantly bothered by the robotic and unsolicited telemarketing calls will heave a huge sigh of relief as all of such calls will be effectively banned from this coming Tuesday. Just in case the companies do not adhere to the guidelines, they will be facing hefty fines where even a single call will mean a $16,000 fine as per the details made public by the Federal Trade Commission. However, calls from politicians, charitable institutions, public service announcements and other informational calls will be exempted from this rule. The same exemption is applicable for banks and telephone carriers. Here is what the customers will need to dial if they come across a robotic sales call after Tuesday- 1-877-FTC-HELP. For additional protection, the FTC has advised people to register for the do-not-call service.
