AT&T has announced plans that their customers will be able to enjoy very thrilling 20Mbps connectivity on their 3G wireless network. The proposed over-the-air download rate would boost wireless net speed by upto five times on what is being offered at the moment. AT&T officials have revealed that their engineers already have a HSPA (High Speed Packet Access) 3G network churning out 7.2 megabits per second that is roughly the double of existing network speeds for the carrier. The company is currently aiming at improving existing infrastructure within the company’s setup to come upto the proposed download rate and hopes to have the setup up and running in a year’s time.
