Asus has launched a new touchscreen Windows Mobile smartphone, the P552w, which is the first phone to use Asus’ custom user interface, named Glide. With the physical keypad missing from the touchscreen devices, users often find it a little difficult to use the Windows Mobile. With Glide, users could easily perform navigational activities like zooming, selecting and scrolling. Taking advantage of the Glide, Asus has incorporated EziPhoto and EziMusic that makes is easy to browse through the photo collection and playlist by simply flickering your fingertips. The Marvell Tavor 624MHz processor makes it a faster smartphone to send and receive e-mails and for instant messaging. Built into the P552w are Wi-Fi, Edge and 3G capabilities with maximum download speed for web browsing being 3.6Mbps. There is built-in GPS with preinstalled Google Maps, microSD memory slot, Bluetooth and 2-megapixel camera. However, we do not have any news from Asus about its date of launch and price.
