The funny thing about rumors (especially tech rumors) is that they sometimes tend to come true. Take the news about LG Korea’s Glimmer on Alltel as an illustration. We heard a couple of weeks back that we might soon enough see this phone announced and true to the word, LG has indeed officially announced LG Glimmer – otherwise known as LG-AX830.
So the Americans will have this slider touch-screen phone in hand within 12 days. LG is a brand new baby on the Shine Phone platform. LG hasn’t tampered too much with the looks of the Shine series and has just added 0.6” of display and touch-screen capabilities.
Weighing in at 4.48 oz and measuring in at 4″x2.05″x0.59″, the Glimmer looks slick enough. Among the other specs are:
• 1900/800 MHz dual band CDMA connectivity, High Speed EVDO data
• 2.8″ 262K color, 240×400 px touchscreen display
• 2 MP camera
• 128MB of internal memory
• microSD memory card slot (up to 4 GB)
• Bluetooth 1.2, USB connectivity
• 800 mAh battery for 3.5 hrs talk and 7 days standby time
• MP3, WMA, AAC and AAC+ audio support
Besides, the phone also has a support for Alltel’s Access TV and Navigation subscription. The carrier’s site is silent till now but soon enough Americans will have this touch-screen in their hands. Worldwide release, I dunno? Maybe…
