Blackberry OS 7.1 brings Wi-Fi Hotspot functionality to Bold 9900

RIM mobiles just released an OS upgrade for Blackberry Bold 9900 in India. This update was long awaited as it brings Wi-Fi hotspot functionality. This feature makes your phone act as an internet hub for connecting up to 5 devices. This new update names as OS 7.1 brings some other improvements over the last version. This update also fixes all the bugs that were reported till now.

Blackberry v7.1 also brings out new features to the Blackberry Messenger. It has new animated avatars and chat bubbles with new colors. It also includes apps which were released just a few weeks back. The update is available for operator locked device (SIM Free). This update would soon come for all the Bold 9900 phones.

Unfortunately, you can’t update your phone over the air. You would need a Blackberry Desktop application to upgrade the device. This update has been rolled out in other countries as well. You can go to the official blackberry page to download OS 7.1 update for your phone.
