If you were expecting thinner phones after Samsung announced unbreakable AMOLED screens, you will probably have to wait a little longer. HTC has confirmed through a press release today that newer versions of their Desire and Nexus One phones will ship with Sony-built “Super LCDs” rather than Samsung’s AMOLED screens. While the HTC statement calls the change a positive move, but it’s pretty obvious that it has become the victim of its own success with high-demand for many of its phones.
