You can have a cameraphone with 5 or 8 megapixels on it but the problem in all circumstances is the gigantic size. Not the makers fault, for they have to incorporate a bigger sensor to have more pixels running on the camera. A sleek design with more pixels on it has thus remained a dream until know. All this could soon change though, with a new technology from OmniVision that hails of a sensor with the ability of radically improving the quality of photography. A sensor that occupies a space of a 3.2 MP on a cameraphone and yet succeeds in delivering 8MP in functionality could ultimately see sleek designs flowing by the beginning of next year. A departure of the company’s OmniBSI chip technology sees each individual pixel brightened by flipping the sensor upside down which ensures that even the back gets lightened.
