Wibree is not a replacement to the Bluetooth but a new wireless standard from the house of Nokia Research that uses less power and compliments Bluetooth. Well, Wibree offers transfer speeds of around 1Mbps at a distance of 10 meters.
Wibree is the first open technology offering connectivity between mobile devices or Personal Computers, and small, button cell battery power devices such as watches, wireless keyboards, toys and sports sensors.
It will be integrated in individual or Bluetooth-Wibree dual-mode chipset. The process is in the works and we could hopefully find the full-fledged Wibree usage in Q2 of 2007.
