Remember the Strategic Analytics Survey which revealed that a number of Palm Pre users were annoyed over the fact that they had to pull-out the physical keyboard each time they intended to type in a text. The non availability of a haptic keypad was therefore considered a big drawback for the phones success and now a third party developer could help Palm overcome the problem. It is actually a patch which offers a standard QWERTY keyboard in both landscape and portrait modes thus eliminating the need of the physical keyboard. The problem is that the patch is not ready for the consumer base although it runs fine on both orientations. Suggestively, it is at your own risk that you can download the application for its relatively buggy and not very stable at the moment…any news about a better application being developed hasn’t surfaced as yet, so the decision is yours to make.
