Just like me, all you iPhone admirers were itching to see a black version of the iPhone, but just like those numerous cell-phone rumors, I feel sad in telling you that all the hoopla was a mere hoax. We’ve seen the big-foot! It’s another one of those stories, slightly bettered by the fact that the culprits who eventually began it have denied it at the end. AT&T served this clarification to have us smothered:
The reference to “iPhone Black” was simply a temporary placeholder used over the weekend for a scheduled catalog update. It was meant to temporarily distinguish the various iPhone models-4GB, 8GB and 16GB-but was never reassigned. It should be corrected on the site by now.” Brad Mays, PR for AT&T
